No, I'm not Catholic, but you just never know where the [haiku] writing might take you. A look at what rhymed with penitent produced agent, and it took off from there!
Rhyming haiku is certainly not required... not even a good idea sometimes just fun when it works.

I am thinking about Pope Francis' current visit to the US. My guess is a lot of people are feeling more penitent... or should be.

Darth Maul. How'd you like to meet him in a dark alley?

Actually, there are real people who are scarier looking than this fellow. Some are actually inking their eyes black. Not to judge, but that's just creepy.

#103: timocracy

Viking Timmy Leif
and friends established tree forts...
a timocracy ?
Picture
I suppose having a really cool treehouse/hideaway is on my bucket list.

I remember blanket forts as kid, commandeering blankets, sheets, pillows, cushions and furniture from all over the house with a "secret" entryway just big enough for me to crawl inthrough.

We grew up in city suburbs, no suitable trees or forests for building treehouses.

For now, I look forward to helping my friend, Ed, build one on his property near Santa Cruz.

We might even don Viking helmets to celebrate!

#102: gingerly

Just looking a funny cat videos, let alone all the cute animal videos and photos on the Web, could use up significant otherwise productive hours... days... weeks... ?

According to REELSEO, over 2 million cat videos have been uploaded to YouTube alone, with 25 billion views. If the average video was 2 minutes, you'd have to watch 150 of them every day (about 5 hours) for 36 and a half years. That's if they banned all future uploads NOW. Doh... 37 years!  Is my math right?

"Whereas, I'll have the steak with, near or adjacent to french fries, including but not limited to the mixed vegetables, accompanied by, concurrent with and at the same time as a beer. Would you like to cross-examine?"

I wonder if attorneys who work full time in contract law and language ever slip up and use that language... elsewhere?

"Two Twos" not too-too
two double bases join two
true tasteful voices
Picture
Two Twos is comprised of Jennifer Scott and Rene Worst plus Sylvia Herold and Chuck Ervin. Rene and Chuck man the basses, Sylvia's voice and guitar, and Jennifer's voice and keyboards accompany.

We were sitting in the front row at this wonderful and intimate house concert tonight, listening to how Two Twos started, when I remembered the Word of the Day was "too-too"!! How perfect is that? Perfect time to include them in my haiku today!

This photo is one of the lighter moments when Rene [in back] and Chuck play the same bass together... and switch in the middle of the song. Great fun. Great music. Thank you Jennifer, Sylvia, Rene and Chuck... wonderful evening!

In general, I highly recommend house concerts.
