No, I'm not Catholic, but you just never know where the [haiku] writing might take you. A look at what rhymed with penitent produced agent, and it took off from there!
Rhyming haiku is certainly not required... not even a good idea sometimes just fun when it works.

I am thinking about Pope Francis' current visit to the US. My guess is a lot of people are feeling more penitent... or should be.

DEFINITION of this 3-syllable adjective:
  1. feeling or expressing sorrow for sin or wrongdoing and disposed to atonement and amendment;
    repentant; contrite.
  2. a penitent person.
  3. Roman Catholic Church. a person who confesses sin and submits to a penance.

    The Word of the Day comes from Dictionary.com. Use the word in your own haiku and add to the comments.

    Improve your vocabulary and your haiku skills at the same time! If you don't know the definition, it's below, but see if you can figure it out from the haiku and/or image.

    Poet and designer, David Alan Foster has been experimenting with haiku since the '70s. He has inspired (or possibly offended) many with said experiments.
