A 1929 Stutz Model M Supercharged. From the supercars.net website: "One Stutz that garnishes more attention than most others is this Lancefield Coupe. Not only is this one of the most striking body and interior designs on a Stutz, but the chassis is one of a few surviving supercharged models. In its time, this supercar must have had very little comparable competition."

The late 20's, early 30's is my favorite era for motorcars. In my early 20's, I had the opportunity to "help" with the restoration of a 1929 Duesenberg Dual Cowl Phaeton that was owned by Otis Chandler of the [Los Angeles] Times. All I actually did was help bolt together the rear end... otherwise just watched one of the restoration masters, Anthony Giaimo, Sr. take the car completely apart, send parts all over the planet for refurbishing, rework or replacement, and painstakingly rebuild the car from the frame up. Below the DEFINITION is a photo of a car very similar to that Duesy.

DEFINITION of this 3-syllable adjective:
  1. Lasting but a short time; fleeting.
  2. fleeting; transitory: a sensational story with but a fugacious claim on the public's attention.
  3. Botany. falling or fading early.

The Word of the Day comes from Dictionary.com. Use the word in your own haiku and add to the comments.

Improve your vocabulary and your haiku skills at the same time! If you don't know the definition, it's below, but see if you can figure it out from the haiku and/or image.

Poet and designer, David Alan Foster has been experimenting with haiku since the '70s. He has inspired (or possibly offended) many with said experiments.
