This version of the "Planet Earth Flag" was created in 2004 by Ima Knot Sosure, now in the public domain. Personally I favor this design over the 2007 design promoted by James Cadle, which is almost too simple.

The point here is not the flag design, but it being the symbol of the one Earth we share. We humans must think beyond our national borders and realize it takes all of us to steward the planet, that everyone has this purpose as an "Earthling," and every individual is charged to do one of the billions of tasks toward that purpose. Just one task. What is your One Task?

DEFINITION of this 3-syllable adjective:
  1. tending to promote peace or reconciliation; peaceful or conciliatory (to make compatible).

The Word of the Day comes from Dictionary.com. Use the word in your own haiku and add to the comments.

Improve your vocabulary and your haiku skills at the same time! If you don't know the definition, it's below, but see if you can figure it out from the haiku and/or image.

Poet and designer, David Alan Foster has been experimenting with haiku since the '70s. He has inspired (or possibly offended) many with said experiments.
