My haiku today brought to mind Robin Hood, which came to the silver screen in 1908!  I found this incredible list of Robin Hood movies... possibly the most adaptations of any story? The legend dates back to the 15th century, and future adaptations are still being planned... remarkable!

So, who are the Robin Hoods of today? There is an organization in New York called the Robin Hood Foundation that is very effective. Who else?

DEFINITION of this 1-syllable noun:
  1. a royal or state treasury; exchequer.

So that's where "fiscal" comes from!

The Word of the Day comes from Dictionary.com. Use the word in your own haiku and add to the comments.

Improve your vocabulary and your haiku skills at the same time! If you don't know the definition, it's below, but see if you can figure it out from the haiku and/or image.

Poet and designer, David Alan Foster has been experimenting with haiku since the '70s. He has inspired (or possibly offended) many with said experiments.
