my horse will cavort
but it's usually when
no one is looking
to cavort and play
would be a blessing today
a.k.a. Monday

Rhyming haiku can get tricky with the reduced words in the standard form, but it's an extra challenge! It's not necessary, of course, and might be deemed heretical!

I like to cavort with haiku themes and forms! Oh, wait:
     I like to cavort
with forms of a certain sort
     with haiku a forte

1. to prance or caper about.
2. to behave in a high-spirited, festive manner; make merry.

The Word of the Day comes from Dictionary.com. Use the word in your own haiku and add to the comments.

Improve your vocabulary and your haiku skills at the same time! If you don't know the definition, it's below, but see if you can figure it out from the haiku and/or image.

Poet and designer, David Alan Foster has been experimenting with haiku since the '70s. He has inspired (or possibly offended) many with said experiments.
