#71: eleemosynary

that most nonprofits
are eleemosynary
is unfortunate
Picture
There is a common complaint amongst nonprofits that there are only so many pieces of the [donor] pie to go around. Well guess what?

You. Can. Bake. More. Pies.

Don't get caught in scarcity thinking! Get creative. While more than happy to accept donations, we at A2V are creating ways to generate our own funds, writing grants, spinning off for-profit entities that help support our cause.

DEFINITION of this 6-syllable adjective:
  1. of or relating to alms, charity, or charitable donations; charitable.
  2. derived from or provided by charity.
  3. dependent on or supported by charity: an eleemosynary educational institution.

The Word of the Day comes from Dictionary.com. Use the word in your own haiku and add to the comments.

Improve your vocabulary and your haiku skills at the same time! If you don't know the definition, it's below, but see if you can figure it out from the haiku and/or image.

Poet and designer, David Alan Foster has been experimenting with haiku since the '70s. He has inspired (or possibly offended) many with said experiments.
