One of my all-time favorite films, Chocolat is as rich as its subject, in quality, acting, story, cinematography and character. There are so many wonderful scenes... but the table I want to sit at is this one when The Feast is served. [cue mouth watering] A confessed chocolate addict, after seeing this movie, I looked all over for "spicy" chocolate, but could not find any. I do believe the movie Chocolat inspired a number of makers to introduce such delicious bars. DEFINITION of this 3-syllable adjective is:
The word knight originated from around 900 AD and meant boy or manservant; by the 1100s was associated with the military class as a paid mercenary of sorts; and around the 1300s became what we think of the chivalrous knight, King Arthur and the Roundtable. Today knighthood is bestowed as a meritorious honor. I knew that Sean Connery, Michael Caine, Paul McCartney, Patrick Stewart, Kenneth Branagh and Elton John are "Sirs," but had no idea that Robert Redford, Bill Gates, Clint Eastwood, Bob Hope, Bob Geldof and Ronald Reagan had been so bestowed! Sir Ronald Reagan!?? DEFINITION of this 3-syllable adjective/noun:
Leonardo da Vinci is one of my heroes. He was certainly a biomimicry designer, scientist and biologist, disecting — figuratively and literally — all kinds of natural creations to discover how they worked. His prodigiously creative mind was way ahead of the technology and materials needed to manifest many of his ideas, but unlike Jules Verne (another hero), who wrote about fantastic things, Leo was able to build a lot of them. Look for — or look out for — "Leonardo da Vinci and the Soldiers of Forever," a Hollywood invention of Leonardo as an Indiana Jones-type... ? ... Jury's out. DEFINITION of this 3-syllable noun:
"Bob, it's just a mild hyperinsulism due to islet cell hyperplasia with a touch of hepatic insufficiency and glycogen depletion. In other words, watch your diet." — text from a cartoon by Harris, S.; stock photo Have you ever wondered why doctors feel compelled to use medical jargon when plain language would better serve their patients?
